Senior Web Designer

Web Designer
Freelance/Contract
United States

About the job

Our client is launching a highly ambitious, fast-turnaround website in partnership with a massive, globally recognized influencer. This project is a completely new way for us to speak to a younger, highly engaged audience who might not typically search on traditional travel platforms.

The website will be a highly interactive, gamified experience (featuring an interactive globe) that allows fans to follow the influencer's global stunts and travels. We are working with an external web development agency to build the site, but we need a dedicated, senior-level Web Designer to own the visual execution, bridge the gap between our internal brand guidelines and the influencer’s aesthetic, and make this experience look incredible.

The Role:

They are looking for a heavyweight Senior Web Designer who is still very much a "doer." You will need the experience to confidently own the design, push back on ideas when necessary, and provide creative solutions on the fly. You will work hand-in-hand with our internal Creative Director and the external web development team to bring this vision to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Execution: Build out the detailed graphic elements required by the UX and web development teams, including buttons, typography, page layouts, and interactive game pop-ups.
  • Brand Translation: Create a cohesive visual lock-up that marries internal brand guidelines with the influencer's unique, high-energy brand.
  • Creative Consulting: Act as the design authority, interpreting feedback from stakeholders and translating it into actionable design updates for the dev team.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly across time zones with our internal creative team, the external agency, and marketing directors to meet an aggressive April launch date.

Requirements:

  • Experience in web and digital design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing highly interactive, consumer-facing, and culturally relevant web experiences.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, work autonomously, and make fast, confident design decisions.
  • Capacity to work on a compressed timeline, including potential weekend availability through the end of April.
